NEW WORLDS” AMUSEMENT PARK – SINDIBAD
Located in an area of Casablanca undergoing active urban development, the Sindibad district is an exceptional site combining urban and natural spaces. The presence of abandoned quarries and the old park in contact with the ocean coastline make it a unifying place that is deeply rooted in the memories of Casablanca’s inhabitants. In order to create a district for the future and give it a new vitality, the project involves the creation of a true urban hub, integrating all the components of city life in a sustainable development approach: housing, tourism, activities, leisure and social development.
Within this exceptional landscape, the decision to create a “green and blue” district, where vegetation and naturally present water will be intertwined, is necessarily guided by the consideration and preservation of natural and historical elements.
In this context, the “Parc des Nouveaux Mondes de Sindibad” (Sindibad New Worlds Park), which develops the leisure activity, creates, through a succession of themed gardens, an assertive landscape continuity on a macro-geographical scale. Retracing the path of the water from five original springs, the parkscape offers a long, lively pedestrian promenade, and guarantees the sustainability of the site’s plant and ecological dimension.
Project won in an international competition.
