KOCHI OCEANARIUM

The Oceanarium aims to be the new symbol of the city of Kochi, offering, in the heart of the Kerala region, a flagship facility dedicated to education and discovery of the regional sea of Oman, the tropical archipelago of Laquedives and the Indian Ocean as a whole. Threatened by pollution and dwindling marine resources, the oceans have become a global issue, and India has an important contribution to make in preserving their ecology and resources in order to guarantee sustainable social development for its coastal populations.

The project showcases the various natural environments – tropical vegetation, coastal plain, tropical reefs… – and, thanks to aquariums and a marine park, will enable visitors to witness the extraordinary diversity of the underwater kingdom, with its colors, shapes and exuberant coral gardens.
