RESTRUCTURING PUBLIC SPACES IN THE PONT DE SÈVRES DISTRICT

The Pont de Sèvres district is a former working-class stronghold handed over by Renault to various developers and transformed into a slab-based neighborhood. Despite the district’s many assets, Pont de Sèvres has not escaped the degradation and neglect of the slab-dwelling constructions of the 1970s. The loneliness and rejection of these “new” districts raises the question of the role of the spaces freed up on the slab, and the need to link these districts in a simple way to the urban system, particularly within the overall project of the ZAC Séguin Rives de Seine.

The public spaces of the Pont de Sèvres district are framed by a strong presence of buildings, which will determine their typology. Partitioned by their varied altimetries and social and land contexts, they await a unified project that respects their respective vocations and uses.
