DESIGN AND PLANTING OF AN URBAN MICRO-FOREST – MÉRIGNAC

The aim of the project is to enhance a parcel of meadowland used for the site installations of an engineering structure. The “Miyawaki” type micro-forest was designed and built as part of a larger project to improve public transport services to the Bordeaux Mérignac airport area from Bordeaux center and towards the rail network – ARTELIA – SIGNES – SCE consortium.

The planting was carried out by all employees of the SIGNES South branch, as part of a team-building initiative.

The soil was tilled by Technivert, using straw as the only input. The seedlings used are certified “Matériel Forestier de Reproduction”.
