REDEVELOPMENT OF RUE DE LA PETITE MISSION – TALENCE

Diagnostic and redevelopment project for the Rue de la Petite Mission, located near the “Talence Médoquine” train station, around 1.2 km from Talence town center.

The street was originally considered to have little in the way of green spaces open to the general public, and was part of a residential zoning composed of single-family homes, shops and apartment buildings.

Our mission: to recompose public space and share the roadway equitably | Bring pedestrian spaces up to standard, integrate bicycle movements and make active modes safer | Calm the street and optimize the public domain by reorganizing parking facilities | Demineralize the street to improve vegetation and rainwater management.

In response, the street was redesigned as a Zone 20, doing away with the notion of sidewalks in favor of a shared street center with pedestrian/cyclist priority.

Private car parking has been reduced (from 36 to 20 spaces), and bicycle parking increased.
