CIRCUIT F1 DE FLINS
The site was chosen for a vast agricultural area straddling the communes of Flins-sur-Seine and Les Mureaux, bordered to the north by the Seine and the inhabited hills of Mézy, to the south by the Paris – Mantes railroad line, the A13 freeway and the Bois de St Vincent, to the west by the Renault plant’s storage parking lots and its own railway line, and to the east by the Nouvelle France industrial zone and the agricultural plots of the ferme de la Haie.
The layout of the track and the compact typology of the circuit and its equipment create a stadium-type architectural configuration ensuring optimum acoustic and visual protection for the surrounding areas and local residents.
In terms of landscaping, the project’s compactness leaves a vast agricultural right-of-way on around 1/3 of the plot allocated to this project, enabling the initial departmental project dedicated to organic farming to be carried out by superimposing the water catchment fields. This agricultural land backs onto a Jardin des Mécaniques de l’Eau at the edge of the Formula 1 circuit, ensuring the treatment and management of water run-off from the site into the Seine.
