CREATION OF A NEW URBAN CENTER – SOLLIÈS-PONT

Re-qualification of public spaces in the old town center and creation of a new public square following the demolition of an old municipal building in a densely built-up area. The program includes: requalifying and giving a common identity to the spaces in the town’s hypercentre; restoring the quality of the site; removing the waterproofing and putting the plant life back at the heart of the project as a structuring element; calming the area and rediscovering a pedestrian-friendly division of space; enhancing the town’s vernacular heritage by rediscovering the canal that runs through the center.
