DURRES SEAFRONT

Against a backdrop of economic change and the opening up of the European market, the Balkan countries are trying to capitalize on their strengths to capture investment opportunities, by creating optimal conditions (services, facilities, transport and living environment).

As Albania’s main seaport, Dürres is undergoing a major transformation, with the relocation of its industrial port opening up new opportunities for urban development. The town is redeploying itself towards the tourist economy, thanks to its exceptional archaeological heritage, and in particular towards the hotel and yachting sectors. The reclaimed industrial land and the redefinition of the seafront coastline have created a new urban area combining a new residential and hotel frontage with new public amenities and high-quality public spaces.
