GOOGLE GARDENS AT 50-52 RUE D’AMSTERDAM – PARIS
The project involves the design of an ambitious outdoor space in terms of accessibility, quantity and diversity of vegetation. The challenge is to design, share and create a new, comfortable environment, hosting a program of activities for users and introducing new biodiversity.
Above all, the new environment will be flexible and adaptable. The design of the outdoor spaces on the roof terraces at R+1, R+5 and R+7 incorporates relaxation areas in the form of garden terraces. These are fitted out with outdoor furniture and planting adapted to sun exposure (see detailed table on page 9 of this manual).
Non-accessible green roofs at R+2, R+3, R+4, and on technical aediculae at R+1 on the inner courtyard, R+7 on the rue d’Amsterdam side and R+5 on the rue de Milan side are planted with ground cover and perennials.
The largest terraces (R+1, R+5, R+7) are made accessible to the building’s users, and transformed into green spaces for relaxation. They will offer a high density of spaces, accessible from the entire building. They are equipped for reading in the garden, or for a quiet coffee break.
