PARC DE LA HAUTE ILE
Cut into a loop of the river, an area where the Marne River floods was to be redeveloped as a departmental leisure park. The observation of the natural dynamics of riparian environments and the discovery of prehistoric remains have created new development opportunities, particularly those that allow us to tell the story of the relationship between man and rivers.
Here, Signes re-enacts various aquatic environments (oxbows, ponds, gravel pits and nursery ponds) by linking them together. New revegetation and management techniques based on the natural dynamics of the environment have been tested and applied, transforming Haute-Ile into a research laboratory for ecology and sustainable development.
A series of footbridges, suspended platforms and observatories allow visitors to observe the changes taking place, as well as the passage of migratory birds.
