PRODUCTION OF THE HAUTE-GARONNE DEPARTMENTAL LANDSCAPE ATLAS

The Haute-Garonne department was one of the few in France not to have a landscape atlas.

24 Landscape Units have been identified and are the subject of descriptive and prospective sheets accessible on the website dedicated to the landscape atlas: https: //paysages.haute-garonne.fr.

Over a two-year period, the team studied existing data, traveled and photographed the area. This enabled them to analyze the area’s urban and landscape characteristics, define and characterize landscape units, identify their evolutionary dynamics and define the challenges and benchmarks for landscape action.

The construction of the atlas was also based on the participation of all landscape stakeholders: residents, associations, elected representatives, socio-professional organizations, institutions, etc., through an online survey, field meetings and local participatory workshops.
