ROUTE DES TAMARINS

The Route des Tamarins between St Gilles and Etang Salé on the west coast of Reunion Island crosses a complex geography cut by numerous ravines. The route was chosen primarily on landscape criteria, firstly to minimize the impact of earthworks, and secondly to enhance views from the road. In addition to the road’s utilitarian function as a link, it also serves as a means of discovering the landscapes of the west coast, through the creation of belvedere areas at the interchanges. Signes is involved in the engineering studies for the insertion of alignments, earthworks, planting and summary plans.
