It’s won! the somme canal bridge
The “Canalieau” consortium, for which we are landscape architects, has won the competitive dialogue for the creation of the Somme Canal Bridge, on behalf of the Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe (SCSNE).
The consortium comprises Bouygues Travaux Publics, leader of the consortium, Bouygues Travaux Publics Régions France and Razel-Bec. Egis, SBE, ISL Ingénierie, Lavigne Chéron Architectes and SIGNES PAYSAGES are responsible for design. The consortium has also enlisted the expertise of Michel Virlogeux.
Straddling the Somme valley, the Pont-Canal de la Somme will ensure the continuity of the canal and its navigability, while preserving its natural features. A key element of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, it is 1,330 meters long (by 45 meters wide) and stands some 30 meters above the Somme valley.
It will support the development of waterborne freight transport, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions and promoting more sustainable logistics.
